You

We support people on a journey of creating change in their lives. Sometimes this is through shifting relationship patterns and connecting more deeply, sometimes healing past wounds, or sometimes growing your relationship to yourself. Through it all, we are here to help you find new outcomes that better serve you. Our clients are ready to rebalance boundaries and connections, face what feels challenging or stuck, and lean into new joys and opportunities created through the therapy process. Our clients are committed to the journey of cultivating emotional and relational experiences that feel more aligned and we are committed to helping you through this journey in ways that feel both safe and nourishing for you.

We see clients virtually throughout New York State, including NYC and its five boroughs. We have in-person options in Syracuse, NY.

YOUR THERAPIST

We believe the therapeutic relationship is cornerstone to meeting your unique needs in healing and change. Therefore, we focus on showing up authentically, with empathy, openness, and acceptance. Our therapists come from different backgrounds, have different styles, and different qualities to bring to the therapy space. They are as unique as our clients and are here to support you in the ways that feel most aligned for you. Meet our team to find out who feels like the best fit for you!

The Practice

Cultivate Connection is a non-pathologizing practice offering systemic, responsive, and affirming therapy. This practice is built on the belief that we are all inherently valuable. We view problems as occurring in the space between us rather than from within us. This perspective, instilled in all of our therapists, creates a space that is open, warm, and non-judgmental. We are client-centered in that we learn about you, from you, to support change that aligns with your value system.

We also believe that good therapists must practice what they preach, and we are committed to supporting our therapists in their own nurturing and change processes so that we are showing up in your therapy spaces fully present, authentic, and ready to support you on this journey. We offer in-person therapy as well as the convenience of teletherapy using a secure video platform to meet you in the privacy and comfort of your own space.

Cultivate Connection was founded by Sarah Dedrick, LMFT as a container to support partners, families, and individuals in evoking sustainable change in relationships to self and others.

Low-cost Therapy Options

This practice partners with Open Path Psychotherapy Collective to provide accessible, lost cost services. Each therapist is encouraged to hold at least a few low-cost spots for clients enrolled through Open Path seeking accessible therapy.

Work with MFT Intern Therapists – MFT Intern Therapists are actively enrolled in a COAMFTE accredited Marriage and Family Therapy program, are engaged in coursework and academia that is expanding and deepening their knowledge and skills in supporting you in a process of healing and change, and are actively engaged in a clinical supervision process that continues to support them in supporting you through your therapy journey. As Intern Therapists work towards gaining clinical experience, they offer a wealth of knowledge and support, and accessible therapy services at lower-costs.

Supervision & Consultation

Internship opportunities and clinical supervision for Marriage and Family Therapists – Sarah Dedrick is an AAMFT Approved Supervisor able to provide supervision and/or professional consultation to new and seasoned therapists alike. Individual & Relational Therapy

We work with individuals, partners, and families to support healing and change that fosters authenticity, joy, and satisfaction. We believe change happens in the context of our patterns and interactions (i.e. how we engage with the world and how our experiences affect us). Your therapist will support you in reflecting on your experiences and cultivating new ways of navigating those experiences. Your therapist will take an empathetic, validating stance during this process and will pull from therapeutic approaches that match your needs and therapy goals.
