FAQ’s

You have questions? We have the answers!

You can expect your therapist to listen to you, learn about you, understand you, honor your experiences and values, and take a non-judgemental approach. You can expect to collaborate with your therapist to create a therapy space that fits your needs and goals. You might experience some discomfort in the process and you can expect your therapist to support you through that. You can expect results! Therapy should usher in change that feels aligned with your needs and goals.
At Cultivate Connection MFT, we uphold AAMFT’s Code of Ethics, but beyond that, we believe in a standard of excellent care. Your therapist will inform you on your rights to privacy and rights as a client. We protect your privacy to the utmost extent within and above our ethical and legal obligations to you.
It’s important that you and your therapist build trust and understanding in the therapeutic relationship. For this reason, we ask that you commit to meeting on a weekly basis for the first 3 – 5 sessions. After the initial therapeutic relationship has been built, you and your therapist will collaborate to determine a frequency and pace that meets your therapeutic needs. Clients must meet with their therapist on a quarterly basis at minimum to keep “active” status as a client. If you decide to leave or pause therapy, but want to revisit at a later time, you just need to get in touch with us!
You’ll know that your therapist feels like a good fit when you feel heard and understood, when you feel accepted and encouraged, and when you start seeing results. The therapy process is also multidirectional, so you must also be open to change in the process.
As MFT’s we believe in systemic therapy. Since we have many wonderful therapists at our practice, we can provide both individual and relational therapy to clients. We will explore what feels like a good fit for you.
Therapy sessions range between 50 – 60 minutes depending on the format of service.
Pricing is dependent on your therapist, insurance coverage, and type of service. We are in-network with Aetna and Cigna insurance—we can help you determine what is covered under your specific plan. For those interested in seeking out-of-network reimbursement under other insurance carriers, a Superbill may be provided upon request to submit to your insurance provider, depending on your therapist. We can help determine your out-of-network reimbursement coverage.
If you need to cancel an appointment, please contact your therapist within 24 hours of the appointment to reschedule. Any appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice are considered late cancellations and may incur a charge. This practice offers one late cancellation/no show free of charge, after the first late cancellation, a charge equivalent to the cost of the appointment will be incurred for any late cancellation/no show.
