Affirming & Identity-Centered Therapy

Inclusive support for identity and connection.

Portrait of man

At Cultivate Connection, we’re committed to creating a therapeutic space that is deeply affirming, inclusive, and grounded in lived understanding. We honor the identities, relationships, and experiences that shape who you are—and we offer care that celebrates your full self. Our work with queer and trans clients, non-monogamous partnerships, kink-affirming communities, and families reflects our belief that healing happens in spaces where you are seen and supported without judgment.

We offer identity-affirming therapy for LGBTQIA+ individuals navigating a wide range of life experiences. Whether you’re exploring gender or sexual identity, processing trauma or dysphoria, or seeking support around relationships, family, or mental health, therapy can be a place to feel held and heard.

We recognize the ways that systemic oppression, rejection, and erasure can impact emotional wellbeing—and we approach this work with cultural humility, curiosity, and care. In our sessions, your therapist will support your healing without asking you to educate, justify, or minimize your lived experience. We create a space where you can move toward greater self-trust, clarity, and resilience.

We provide affirming support for individuals and partners in ethically non-monogamous (ENM), open, polyamorous, and alternative relationship structures. Whether you’re new to exploring non-monogamy or have been practicing for years, therapy can be a valuable space to process challenges, strengthen communication, and deepen connection.

We understand that these relationships come with their own complexities—jealousy, boundary setting, differing needs, family or societal pressure—and we meet them without judgment. Your therapist will work with you to create clarity around values, agreements, and emotional needs while supporting your relationship(s) in alignment with your chosen structure.

When a family member comes out as queer, trans, or gender-expansive, it can bring a mix of emotions and questions. We support families through these transitions with compassion and respect—for both the individual and the family as a whole.

Whether you’re navigating your child’s gender transition, supporting a partner through identity exploration, or healing from past misunderstandings, therapy can help families move from confusion or disconnection to empathy and mutual respect. We hold space for each member’s experience while affirming the identity of your loved one. Together, we build understanding, connection, and family resilience.

We provide sex-positive, kink-affirming therapy for individuals and partners who incorporate kink, BDSM, or alternative sexual expression into their lives. We recognize kink as a valid, creative, and often deeply relational part of people’s identities and experiences—not something that needs to be pathologized or hidden.

Whether you’re exploring consent, power exchange, aftercare, communication, or navigating shame and stigma, therapy is a space where you can talk openly and honestly. We approach this work with curiosity, cultural competency, and respect for the full range of human sexual expression.

You deserve care that affirms, reflects, and celebrates who you are.

At Cultivate Connection, we hold space for healing, exploration, and transformation—always grounded in your truth.
