Supervision, Consultation & Mentorship

Support for therapists at every career stage.

Therapist mentorship

At Cultivate Connection, we know that the development of thoughtful, grounded, and self-reflective clinicians begins with intentional support. We offer clinical supervision, mentorship, and consultation for therapists at all stages of their careers—from MFT graduate-level therapists and limited permit holders to fully licensed clinicians and emerging supervisors.

Whether you’re looking to complete your supervision hours, explore advanced clinical skills, or find community in private practice, we’re here to support your growth as a therapist and professional.

Sarah Dedrick, LMFT-D and AAMFT Approved Supervisor, provides relationally attuned, culturally responsive supervision for pre-licensed Marriage and Family Therapists working toward licensure in New York. Supervision at Cultivate Connection supports you in:

  • Developing clinical confidence and clarity as a relational therapist
  • Nurturing your self-of-the-therapist
  • Navigating complex clinical dynamics
  • Deepening your understanding of trauma-informed and identity-affirming care
  • Reflecting on countertransference, burnout, and sustainability in the work
  • Integrating systems thinking into both individual and relational cases

Our approach is grounded in transparency, collaboration, and the belief that clinicians do their best work when they feel seen and nourished.

If you’re a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist interested in becoming an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, Sarah also offers mentorship (FKA supervision-of-supervision). These hours meet AAMFT’s training requirements and support you in:

  • Developing your own supervisory style and philosophy
  • Learning how to ethically and effectively support trainee growth
  • Reflecting on power, privilege, and positionality in supervisory relationships
  • Building confidence in facilitating case consultation and skill development

This mentorship opportunity is ideal for therapists who are ready to take the next step in leadership, clinical training, or academia.

Cultivate Connection is a growing group practice that welcomes pre-licensed MFTs (limited permit or associate-level clinicians) who are seeking a collaborative, relationally oriented clinical home. As part of our practice, you’ll have access to:

  • Individual and group supervision with an AAMFT Approved Supervisor
  • Ongoing training in trauma-informed, queer-affirming, and relational therapy
  • Opportunities for clinical mentorship, community, and professional development
  • Support in building a sustainable caseload within an identity-affirming practice

We’re passionate about helping emerging therapists thrive—not just in their clinical work, but as whole humans. If you’re looking for a place to grow your voice and your values in private practice, we’d love to connect.

Sarah also offers consultation for licensed therapists, clinical supervisors, and private practice clinicians seeking:

  • Support with complex cases or relational stuck points
  • Guidance in identity-affirming care (LGBTQ+, ENM, kink-aware therapy)
  • Ethical consultation and clinical risk assessment
  • Practice-building or supervisory leadership support
  • Burnout prevention and reconnecting to purpose in the work

Consultation sessions can be ongoing or one-time, and are tailored to your clinical goals and context.

It’s Truly Changed My Life

Starting therapy felt intimidating at first, but I immediately felt safe and supported here. I’ve been able to explore patterns I didn’t even realize were holding me back, and slowly, things have started to shift. My relationships feel more honest, and I feel more grounded in myself. I’m so grateful for the care, patience, and insight I’ve experienced in this space—it’s truly changed my life.
